The artificial turf at Kendall Park is the Waimakariri District’s premier sporting ground for football and rugby.
This synthetic, full-sized, all-weather sports facility has been built to IRB impact standards and is FIFA accredited, and features high quality lighting equivalent to the best fields of this type anywhere in New Zealand.
The field is available to be booked between the hours of 9 am and 9 pm, seven days a week. While booking preference is given to Waimak United Football Club, there are opportunities for other football and rugby clubs to use the facility through the season.
The field is set up with football lines, flags and goals. Rugby goals can be installed on request at no charge (24 hours notice required), and rugby lines can be temporarily painted onto the surface for an additional fee.
Lights are available on the artificial turf between 5.10 pm and 9.30 pm, and may be available for early morning use if required. There is a block of public toilets at Kendall Park and showers/changing rooms are available on request for an additional hire fee.
The artificial turf at Kendall Park is constructed using Tiger Turf’s 'Endurance 60' 3rd generation high-performance synthetic grass.
A free-draining base is covered by a rubber impact pad, then topped with a 60 mm deep layer of synthetic fibres packed with granulated rubber. The yarn used in this turf is the only type in the world sold with an unlimited play durability warranty.
This surface provides natural ball bounce and roll, together with excellent boot traction and reduced body impact with the ground, all without the risk of grass-burn commonly associated with other synthetic surfaces. It is suitable for play in flat-soled shoes.
The artificial turf at Kendall Park is available for hire.
Hire charges are as follows (all prices shown are GST inclusive):

Full turf - $85/hr
