Mobile Community Hub

Our mobile community hub makes it easier to reach out to vulnerable communities.

The multi-purpose van can be hired by not-for-profit, charitable organisations or government agencies that need to reach out to people with support, information, and an opportunity to connect.

The mobile community hub has been made possible thanks to Department of Internal Affairs funding. We acknowledge the input of our community partners who have worked with us to bring this project to life.

Features of the mobile community hub

The van has been custom-built to include the following features:

  • Fridge
  • Freezer
  • BBQ
  • Hot and cold water
  • Shower
  • Awning
  • Heater and air conditioning
  • USB and  USB-C port
  • Power point
  • 3-phase power socket
  • Solar panels
  • Bench seating with in-built storage

Hire the mobile community hub

The mobile community hub can be booked by emailing office@wmk.govt.nz or via the front desk of any Council service centre. Please explain the reason for your booking and what date/s you need the van. We will ask you to complete a Hire Agreement Form.

We will confirm your booking via email and ask that you pay a hiring fee of $20 per day before collecting the keys from Rangiora Service Centre.

At the end of your hire, you will be asked to complete a checklist and evaluation form before returning the key.

If your purpose for hiring is different to the above, you may want to look at booking our community events trailer. Otherwise, please contact our Community Team on 0800 965 468 to discuss whether your purpose is better suited to one of our alternative resources.
