Water Services Information Disclosure Determination 2026 Documents
The documents on this webpage have been provided by the Council to meet our information disclosure obligations as a regulated supplier of water services, in accordance with the Water Services Information Disclosure Determination 2026, as issued by the Commerce Commission.
On 16 June 2026, the Council adopted the following:
- Funding Growth Policy: Sets out how the Council funds growth, where it relates to the provision of water supply and wastewater services in the Waimakariri District.
- Statement on Dividends Policy: Explains why the Council does not have a Dividends Policy.
The Council also adopted a Fees and Charges spreadsheet, which provides detailed information relating to amounts payable to, or collected by the Waimakariri District Council as a supplier of water services.
As a regulated supplier, the Council provides information on charges for its water supply and wastewater services at the single service level.
Section 4.9 of the Determination outlines the specific information that must be disclosed regarding these charges, across eight categories. For each category, the Council must disclose the following details:
- The category of charge
- The name of the charge
- Whether the charge applies to residential, non-residential, or both types of customers
- The geographic area(s) in which the charge applies
- The circumstances under which the charge is payable
- The amount or rate of the charge (inclusive of GST)
- Where the charge is not directly attributable to the regulated service, the portion of the charge (inclusive of GST) allocated to that service
- The charging basis
- Any additional information describing how the charge is calculated, what it covers, or any circumstances in which the charge may not apply or may differ
The Council does not collect any IFF levies under within the meaning of section 7(1) of the Infrastructure Funding and Financing Act 2020.
This information is subject to change on a yearly basis and will be reviewed and updated in line with the Council’s Annual Plan processes.
