What is SiteWise?
SiteWise is an online contractor pre-qualification system that grades a contractor's Health and Safety capability and makes it available to principal and main contractor organisations during the tendering process.
Having this information available helps us assess your company's health and safety commitments and systems, and ensures our minimum level of health and safety knowledge and compliance is met.
SiteWise was initially developed for the Christchurch rebuild, where many small contractors needed real support to improve their safety systems and actions. Since development, it has been improved and is now used as a contractor health and safety pre-qualification system across many different industries.
Many organisations now use SiteWise to make informed contractor selections, making the tendering and contracting process simpler and more efficient for everyone.
How does it work?
Anyone wishing to be considered for contract work at the Council will need to complete the SiteWise online questionnaire regarding their health and safety systems.
The questionnaires are independently assessed by SiteWise's qualified health and safety professionals. The assessment will result in a grade, and a detailed report is provided to you, along with any suggested improvements (if needed).

Where do I sign up?
It's easy to register on sitewise.
The annual cost of registration is $180 + GST.
Complete and submit a brief online questionnaire and provide some supporting information.
Your registration in year one allows you three assessments within that year. In the following years you can submit one assessment per year.

What if I am already registered and assessed by another pre-qualification provider?
Waimakariri District Council will accept alternative forms of health and safety pre-qualification, so long as they include an external audit of the contractor's health and safety systems, and are recognised as having industry credibility.
