RecoveryPlanDeskSince January 2017, Council staff have been putting Waimakariri’s Recovery Plan in to action. The first 12 months has involved a lot of essential work prior to any projects getting underway  - planning, designing and working closely with our community and partners.

The approved plan meant long-awaited key infrastructure projects could get underway; the repair and rebuild of essential water and sewer infrastructure in the Kaiapoi East and South Regeneration Areas. Close to getting started, are two roading projects; the rebuild of the earthquake damaged parts of Courtenay Drive, Charters Street and Wyber Place, along with a new road link from Feldwick Drive to Cass Street – both start in January 2018.  A community-led project, the Kaiapoi Food Forest, got off the ground in September 2017.
