Works will commence in January 2026 to replace the existing water main as it’s nearing the end of its life and is in poor condition.

The work will include

Installation of 90m of new water main on the east side of Coney Street.

Timing of work

Construction is scheduled to occur January/February 2026 and is expected to take one week.

How the work may affect you

Vehicle access to properties within the construction area may be restricted at times, and parts of the berm on the east side of the road may be closed.

Traffic impacts

Parts of the berm on the east side of the road may be closed. The construction area will operate under a ‘shoulder closed’ or ‘lane closed’ traffic management plan.

Kerbside collections
Your kerbside collections will remain unchanged. Please ensure your bag or bins are in their usual spot on collection day.

Essential services
There will be no planned disruption to your water, wastewater, telephone or power services.

Notice of changes in traffic management
We will do our best to give you enough notice to adjust to any changes in traffic management, please keep an eye out for more updates.

Hours
All work will be undertaken Monday to Friday, between 7am and 6pm.

Weather
In the event of bad weather or for unforeseen circumstances, the work may be delayed.

Safety
Please warn your children of the dangers posed by road works. Ensure that they stay well back from the work site and they follow the directions of the workers.
