Temporary Linemarking Removal – South Belt/Southbrook Road

Two nights of nightwork is planned between 14–16 June on South Belt and Southbrook Road near the Southbrook Road/Percival Street intersection.

This work is required to permanently remove the various temporary linemarkings that were installed during the recent Percival Street wastewater upgrade. This will be on South Belt between Buckleys Road and Southbrook Road, and on Southbrook Road between No. 65 and South Belt.

Unfortunately this is required as the current blacking out of the old markings will fade over time, and this will create a real safety issue.

The work will include
  • The work includes the removal of the temporary linemarkings via sandblasting.
  • Various permanent linemarkings will be reinstated.
Timing of work

Nightwork is planned to commence from 6pm on:

  • Sunday 14 June 2026
  • Monday 15 June 2026.
How the work may affect you

This work will be very noisy. Unfortunately there is little we can do about this, and so we apologise in advance. We did consider doing this during the day, but it will include a full road closure which would be too disruptive. We will try to complete all of the works as soon as possible to minimise disruption.

There will be no on-street parking available on South Belt between Buckleys Road and Southbrook Road. Access to resident’s properties will be managed onsite by the contractor.

Traffic impacts

The traffic management will change through-out the duration of the work. Please follow the temporary traffic management signage and contractor’s directions.

General impacts
Kerbside collections

Your kerbside collections will remain unchanged. Please ensure your bag or bins are in their usual spot on collection day.

Essential services

There will be no planned disruption to your water, wastewater, telephone or power services.

Notice of changes in traffic management

Traffic Management will be set up and packed down at the start and end of each shift. We will do our best to give you enough notice to adjust to any changes in traffic management, please keep an eye out for more updates.

Hours

All work will be undertaken between 6pm and 6am.

Weather

In the event of bad weather or unforeseen circumstances, the work may be delayed.

Safety

Please warn your children of the dangers posed by road works. Ensure that they stay well back from the work site and they follow the directions of the workers.

Noise and dirt

Your cooperation and patience will help us get the job done as quickly as possible. All work will be carried out between the stated hours to help minimise the impact on the community.

Thank you for your patience while we complete this work. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
