Following our previous project information notice dated July 2025, the physical works contract has been tendered to construct the pedestrian link between Chinnerys Road and Ravenswood.
The contract for the footpath construction between Chinnerys Road and Ravenswood has now been awarded to Stewart Civil Limited.
The work will include
- Kerb and channel construction outside St Barnabas Church and at Chinnerys Road intersection.
- Associated drainage works.
- Footpath construction including concrete separators between the existing road and the new footpath for improved safety.
- Minor lane realigment with road marking.
Timing of work
The works are programmed to commence on 13 October and be completed in December 2025.
How the work may affect you
Access will be provided wherever possible. The contractor will provide advanced notice of any restrictions and work with property owners to understand their access needs.
Traffic impacts
State Highway 1
The works planned will be undertaken to minimise any impacts on State Highway 1 traffic. Two lanes will be maintained at all times.
Chinnerys Road
Chinnerys Road between Woodglen Drive and State Highway 1 will have an east bound lane closure and restricted movements at the intersection during the construction period — a detour route will be provided. Further information on the timing and traffic management impacts will be communicated in advance of the works commencing.
General impacts
Kerbside collections
Your kerbside collections will remain unchanged. Please ensure your bag or bins are in their usual spot on collection day.
Essential services
There will be no planned disruption to your water, wastewater, telephone or power services.
Notice of changes in traffic management
We will do our best to give you enough notice to adjust to any changes in traffic management, please keep an eye out for more updates.
Hours
All work will be undertaken Monday to Friday, between 7am and 5pm.
