In early 2026, we will be constructing a 1.8m new footpath on Blake Street, Rangiora between Durham Street Road and No. 6 Blake Street where the existing footpath ends.
This work is part of the Council’s plan to improve walking connections in our major towns and neighborhoods.
The work will include
- A 1.8m wide asphalt footpath including tree protection (existing tree located in the berm outside No.18 shall be retained)
- Th new footpath shall be located behind the existing kerb.
Timing of work
The work is currently in the design stage. We will update you once the contract has been awarded and the contractor has confirmed timing for the work to start.
How the work may affect you
Vehicle access to properties within the construction area will be restricted. Access to properties will be restored by the end of the day. More information shall be provided prior to commencement of work.
Traffic impacts
Traffic management will be in place. On-street parking will not be available during construction. More information shall be provided prior to commencement of work.

There will be no planned disruption to your water, wastewater, telephone or power services.
