Murphy Park Redevelopment Stage 1 — 78 Raven Quay Kaiapoi

We are beginning work on Stage 1 of the redevelopment of the Murphy Park rowing and paddle sports precinct.

As part of the redevelopment of Murphy Park, we will be starting work on Stage 1 of this project soon. Consultation on the master plan took place in 2018, with Board approval on the concept plan in 2025.

The work will include
  • Excavation of the area outside of the new St Margaret’s building and pontoon area and compact ready for asphalt.
  • Tree pit installation.
  • Installation of a new water lateral and sewer pipe.
  • Installation of power.
  • Installation of concrete pads for furniture.
  • Installation of bollards around the carpark and pontoon area.
Timing of work

Work is expected to commence on Monday 29 June 2026 and will take approximately six weeks.

How the work may affect you

Murphy Park will stay open and accessible throughout the duration of Stage 1 work. However, there may be a short period of time that the area directly in front of the pontoon is not accessible. Cones and signage will be in place in this area during this time and the smaller boat ramp will remain accessible.

Traffic impacts

There will be no traffic impacts, please ensure you follow any safety signage.
