From the garden:

  • Tree branches (up to 100mm thick and shorter than 2.4m)
  • Shrub and hedge prunings under 100mm thick
  • Leaves
  • Grass clippings
  • Weeds
  • Pea straw, clean hay, straw
  • Green vegetative material, i.e. perennials, vegetable plants, annuals, fruits etc.

From the garden:

  • Rocks, stones, gravel
  • Clay or topsoil
  • Flax or cabbage tree leaves
  • Bamboo
  • Noxious plants or weeds
  • Timber, sawdust, ash
  • Plant pots

From the kitchen:

  • Dairy products
  • Fruit
  • Fish
  • Vegetables
  • Meat and bones
  • Coffee grinds
  • Loose tea leaves

From the kitchen:

  • Compostable or biodegradable packaging
  • Plastic bags, food wrap, containers
  • Cardboard and paper (no pizza boxes, shredded paper, serviettes, paper towels, tissues)
 

Other items we don’t accept:

  • Animal manure or dead animals
  • Kitty litter
  • Glass, metal, stones or bricks
