It’s annual dog registration time, and Waimakariri’s fiercely popular competition is back – Dog of the District!
Last year, Tango the corgi stole the spotlight, and we can’t wait to see which furry contender will earn the 2025 crown (and ultimate bragging rights).
How to enter
To nominate your dog, head to the relevant post on our Facebook page:
- Share a photo of them looking their best
- Include a description about him or her and tell us why they are a super star!
- Entries close Monday 30 June at 9am.
After entries close, we'll select a shortlist of finalists who will then compete for the public's vote.
The dog with the most votes will win free dog registration for a year, a 10kg bag of Black Hawk premium dog food, a certificate of achievement and, of course, bragging rights. We’ll have some prizes for our finalists too!
Entry requirements
Your dog must be registered to the Waimakariri District Council, and you must be able to provide us their registration number if asked.
