Construction of the new centre is currently on track for completion in November 2026. We’ll confirm the official opening date closer to the time.
The existing centre will remain open and available for bookings until the new facility opens in 2026.
Once the new centre is operational, the current leased facility at Tahuna Street will close permanently.
Yes. You can continue to book and use the current Pegasus Community Centre as usual until the new facility is ready.
You don’t need to do anything. All existing and recurring bookings will be automatically transferred to the new centre. Our team will contact you closer to opening day with any details you need to know.
Not yet. Bookings for the new community centre will open through the Council’s online booking system in due course. We will notify users and update the website as soon as bookings go live.
Yes, there will be some changes to the current fees. Updated fees will be confirmed once the Council adopts the annual plan in June. We will share the new fee schedule as soon as it is approved.
The new Pegasus Community Centre will not have storage facilities.
If you have items stored at the current centre, these will need to be removed before the new centre opens and the current centre closes. Please remove all equipment not required for your activity no later than Friday 18 September and have remaining equipment removed by Friday 16 October. Your cooperation is appreciated and will enable a smooth transition to the new facility.
Regular updates will be shared on the Council website and emailed directly to current users. We’ll continue to keep you informed as the project moves closer to completion.
