Listening to Community

The Woodend Sefton Community Board held their first meeting of 2019 on Monday evening and were pleased to receive an update from Council staff in response to the concerns that residents raised through the Pegasus Residents’ Group about the maintenance of the entrance to Pegasus.

Overhaul at Ohoka Domain

Contractors will start work on the comprehensive redevelopment of the Ohoka Domain on Monday 18 February 2019.  We developed this plan for the new domain in partnership with the local community and users of the domain over a number of months.

Oxford Rural No.1 Water Supply to be Shut Down for 24 Hours

The water level in the aquifer that supplies Oxford Rural No. 1 water supply scheme has declined in recent weeks due to the hot weather and lack of rainfall. Because of the low level Waimakariri District Council will be shutting the water supply off for a day to undertake maintenance work which will make the main bore that supplies the Oxford Rural No.1 water supply scheme (the McPhedrons Road well) more resilient.

Community Service Recognised

Mayor Ayers presented Michael Petterson with a Community Service Award at our Council meeting on Tuesday 5 February 2019.  This award was in recognition of his role in establishing the Twining Relationship that Waimakariri has with the Zonnebeke Municipality in Belgium.
