Changes to Sefton Kerbside Collection Day

Changes came into effect on Tuesday 19 August. Here's what you need to know.

The kerbside collection day for Sefton residents has changed from a Monday Week 1 to a Tuesday Week 2.

From Tuesday 19 August, your scheduled collection day for organics, rubbish and recycling will be on Tuesday, and the sequence of collections for rubbish and recycling will change to be opposite what you are used to.

What you need to know

Here are the key changes:

  • All three bins (rubbish, recycling and organics) will be collected on Tuesday 19 August
  • New address labels will be applied to your bins to reflect the changes
  • On Tuesday 26 August we will collect organics and recycling
  • On Tuesday 2 September we will collect organics and rubbish (bins/bags)
  • Email or text reminders will automatically change for you to show as a Tuesday Week 2 Collection.

Letters have been sent to those who are signed up to our kerbside collection scheme for properties in Sefton.

Please note; we are unable to do a letterbox drop due to many Sefton properties not having letterboxes, so if your property is tenanted, please ensure your tenants are aware of this change.

Why are these changes happening?

The growth in the district, especially in the Monday collection areas, has meant at times collections have continued into the evening. These changes will help manage the service we provide to you.

More information

Please remember to place rubbish bags on the ground next to your bin and not on top. At times we undertake a separate collection for the bags, which means you may see the truck go past and collect your rubbish bin not but not the bag.
