Kippenberger Ave and East Belt Urbanisation

Rangiora is currently experiencing continual residential and commercial growth with Kippenberger Avenue being one of the main multi-modal routes into the town centre and surrounding residential areas with some key links currently not in place.

The Kippenberger Avenue Urbanisation Project will cater for future growth by providing safe and accessible links to the Rangiora Town Centre and beyond, while also reflecting the future urban nature of the area.

The work will include

  • Installation of kerb and channel
  • Construction of a new 2.5m wide shared path between Bellgrove and the Rangiora-Woodend Path crossing point
  • Construction of a 2.5m path from Bellgrove to 106 Kippenberger Ave (as well as the Bellgrove crossing point)
  • An extention of the 1.8m path on East Belt between Kippenberger Avenue and Greyview Grove
  • Associated drainage and alndscaping upgrades.

Timing of work
The work is planned to take place from 3 March 2025 and is programmed to be completed mid 2025.

How the work may affect you
Driveway accesses may be limited during kerb and channel construction. These impacts will be communicated well in advance  and will ensure no disruption to business activities where possible.

Please place your organics, rubbish and recycling bins at the end of your driveway and the contractor will ensure all collections are completed.

Traffic impacts
There is likely to be minor traffic management impacts. These will be communicated to residents and road users closer to the time once confirmed.

General impacts
Kerbside collections
Kerbside collections will remain unchanged. Please ensure your bag or bins are in their usual spot on collection day.

Essential services
There will be no planned disruption to your water, wastewater, telephone or power services.

Notice of change in traffic management
We will do our best to give you enough notice to adjust to any changes in traffic management, please keep an eye out for more updates.

Hours
7am to 5.30pm

Weather
In the event of bad weather or for unforeseen circumstances, the work may be delayed.

Safety
Please warn your children of the dangers posed by road works. Ensure that they stay well back from the work site and they follow the directions of the workers.

Noise and dirt
Road work is a noisy, dirty business - but please bear with us. We will be going all we can to minimise the impact on your home/business. Your cooperation and patience will help us get the job done as quickly as possible. All work will be carried out between the stated hours only to help minimise the impact on the community.

Easy does it
Bitumen, concrete and other road repair materials require a bit of care after they are applied. Please treat all new surfaces with extra care following the completion of this project.
