We are installing a gravel path and seating in the arboretum at Millton Memorial Park.
As part of the master plan for Millton Memorial Park Development, a pathway linking the reserve, arboretum and dog park was approved for implementation in 2021.
The work will include
- Constructing gravel paths that connect the various entrances across the arboretum
- Installation of two park bench seats and one picnic table on concrete pads.
Timing of work
Work is expected to start on 24 September and take approximately six weeks.
How the work may affect you
Sectional temporary fencing will be installed daily to clearly mark active work zones. Safe detour routes for pedestrians will be provided throughout the project. Please note that construction vehicles may be present on site, accessing the area via Cones Road as pathways are built.
The entrance and exit to the dog park from the arboretum will be temporarily closed for a short duration while work is carried out directly outside the gate with signage installed. Contractors will aim to minimise the length of this closure as much as possible.
Traffic impacts
Access to the park will be retained for pedestrians, trucks/machinery will access the site through Cones Road as part of the construction works.
General impacts
Weather
In the event of bad weather or for unforeseen circumstances, the work may be delayed.
Dogs
Please ensure dogs remain on a lead and safely away from any construction areas.
Thank you for your patience while we complete this work. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
