The demolition of the old Police Station at 309 High Street Rangiora has been completed and EDR Contracting have been awarded the contract to construct the new car park to take its place.

The work will include:

• Adding 57 new parking spaces with a 180-minute time restriction, which will be available for free public use.
• Additional cycle parking and a seating area will be constructed.
• Upgrading the existing drainage.
• Installing kerb and channel.
• Installing gardens and plantings.

Timing of work

Work will begin the week commencing 31 March and is expected to be completed by mid-June.

Traffic impacts

There is work required on High Street to install new kerbing and install the new entrances to the car park. The footpath will remain open throughout this, however the footpath will be narrowed for short periods of time while this work is undertaken.

There is some minor drainage work required on King Street. The footpath will be detoured for this work which is only expected to take between one–two days.

There is some line marking changes required on High Street. This work will be undertaken at night time to limit disruption and is expected to be completed in one evening shift.

General impacts

Kerbside collections
Your kerbside collections will remain unchanged. Please ensure your bag or bins are in their usual spot on collection day.

Essential services
There will be no planned disruption to your water, wastewater, telephone or power services.

Weather
In the event of bad weather or for unforeseen circumstances, the work may be delayed.

Safety
Please warn your children of the dangers posed by road works. Ensure that they stay well back from the work site
and they follow the directions of the workers.

Noise and dirt
Road work is a noisy, dirty business — but please bear with us. We will be doing all we can to minimise the impact on
your home/business. Your cooperation and patience will help us get the job done as quickly as possible. All work will
be carried out between the stated hours and over week days only to help minimise the impact on the community.
