The work will include

- Footpath reconstruction.
- Swale and vee channel construction on the eastern side similar to the recently completed works south of Hugh Street.
- New underchannel pipework to assist in overland drainage.
- Planting of street trees:
The planting of street trees within existing streets is part of Council’s commitment to achieving environmental and sustainability goals, as well as improving the amenity of existing streetscapes, and complying with the Council’s Engineering Code of Practice
- The trees selected for Akaroa Street, Acer Rubrum Bowhill (Red Maple), have been chosen to suit the specific site, taking into account ground/soil conditions, the available space, and the orientation of the street.
