We are installing two new play spaces at Norman Kirk and Currie Parks.
We are installing a new play space at Norman Kirk Park which will include a climbing tower, a swing set, a carousel and a rocker. At Currie Park the existing equipment has reached end of life so will be replaced with a natural play space.
The work will include
- Demolition of existing playground infrastructure
- Construction of walking logs, climbing boulders and stepping posts at Currie Park
- Installation of park furniture and play equipment at Norman Kirk Park
- Construction of garden beds and reserve paths.
Timing of work
Work is expected to start in September and be finished by early December.
How the work may affect you
- The existing Currie Park play space will be unavailable for use during the project
- A section of Norman Kirk Park will be unavailable for use near the toilet blocks
- The toilets and changing rooms will remain available for use.
Traffic impacts
There should be minimal disruptions to traffic in the surrounding areas. Alternative routes will be set up if required by the works.

Kerbside collections
Your kerbside collections will remain unchanged. Please ensure your bag or bins are in their usual spot on collection day.
Essential services
There will be no planned disruption to your water, wastewater, telephone or power services.
Notice of changes in traffic managementWe will do our best to give you enough notice to adjust to any changes in traffic management, please keep an eye out for more updates.
Hours
All work will be undertaken Monday to Saturday, between 7am and 5pm.
Weather
In the event of bad weather or for unforeseen circumstances, the work may be delayed.
