We’re improving drainage at Goodwin-MacPhail Reserve.
Stormwater runoff has been observed flowing off the Reserve and into neighbouring residential properties. We’re constructing a swale to capture the stormwater and divert it to the downstream wetland on Goodwin Street instead.
The work will include
Excavating a new swale on the reserve.
Timing of work
Construction is programmed for December 2025, and is expected to last three weeks.
How the work may affect you
Access to some parts of the reserve may be restricted.
Traffic impacts
Minimal traffic impacts are expected.
General impacts
Kerbside collections
Your kerbside collections will remain unchanged. Please ensure your bag or bins are in their usual spot on collection day.
Essential services
There will be no planned disruption to your water, wastewater, telephone or power services.
Notice of changes in traffic management
We will do our best to give you enough notice to adjust to any changes in traffic management, please keep an eye out for more updates.
Hours
All work will be undertaken between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
Weather
In the event of bad weather or for unforeseen circumstances, the work may be delayed.
Safety
Please warn your children of the dangers posed by road works. Ensure that they stay well back from the work site and they follow the directions of the workers.
