We are asphalting the gritted path between 160–259 Tuahiwi Road.
In 2023, the Waimakariri District Council constructed a new gritted footpath on Tuahiwi Road to provide safer access and connection for pedestrians through Tuahiwi. Feedback from residents was that the path needed to be asphalted, and so as part of stage two, contractors will asphalt the path.
Scope of Work
- Asphalting the footpath.
- Installing new culverts at the entrance-ways between 160–178 Tuahiwi Road and asphalting the vehicle entrances.
Timing of Work
The contract has been awarded to Nor West Contracting Ltd. Works are expected to be carried out before July. We will update you again with confirmed dates when available.
How the Work May Affect You
There will be disruptions to the entrances between 160–178 Tuahiwi Road while we install the new culverts and asphalt the vehicle entrances and footpath. Nor West will contact residents and give them notice the day before they start this work to allow residents to move any vehicles.
Traffic Impacts
- The gritted footpath will be closed while this work is undertaken.
- The footpath on the west side of Tuahiwi Road will remain open throughout the project.
- The parking outside of 226–228 Tuahiwi Road will be closed while they asphalt this part of the footpath. This is expected to take approximately two–three days.
- Traffic will be shifted to the west side of Tuahiwi Road while the vehicle crossings between 160–178 Tuahiwi Road are completed.
Thank you for your patience while we complete this work. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
