Latest Roadworks - 22-28 April

See the latest roadworks starting Monday 22 April.

  • The traffic signals at Tram Road off-ramp are now operational, but additional road marking work is due to be completed this Sunday night with an off-ramp closure and westbound lane closure of the overbridge between 8pm and 4am.
  • Smith Street, Kaiapoi is currently closed to eastbound traffic between Charles Street and Princess Place. This is due to be completed next week, but due to minor conflict with the planned Anzac Service, eastbound traffic (except buses) will be detoured via Ranfurly Street and Dale Street on Thursday to reduce traffic volumes on Charles Street.
  • South Belt is currently closed to westbound traffic from Martyn Street until mid-May with a detour via Bush Street and Johns Road.
  • Works are continuing at Ohoka Road-Island Road intersection on the signal installation. Island Road is due to be closed between Ohoka Road and Cosgrove Road daily from the 16 April to 10 May, with a detour in place via Silverstream Boulevard and Barnard Street.
  • Kings Ave, Waikuku will be closed to traffic between Allin Drive and Queens Ave from the 22 April to 15 May for storm water improvement works.
  • The Kaiapoi and Rangiora Anzac Services are taking place on 25 April, with a closure of Raven Quay for the dawn service in Kaiapoi, followed by closures of Davie & Sewell Streets for the parade. Rangiora will see closures of Ivory/Ashley, High Street, Victoria Street and Percival Street for the parade and service.
  • Stop/go will be in place on Townsend Road between South Belt and Fernside Road for tree trimming works on Friday 26 April, short delays likely morning/afternoon.
  • Works are taking place in Cridland Street, Kaiapoi to install a new power cable under the river. Cridland (east) will be closed to eastbound traffic from Sidey Quay, and Cridland (west) closed to westbound traffic from Bridge Street.
  • River Road is to be closed to westbound traffic from Ashley Street from Monday 29 April for the urbanisation works taking place here, along with a closure of Riverview Road between Awa Place and River Road. Detour will be via Milton Ave and Cones Road. Buses will still service the park and ride, with the exception for the westbound #1 which will follow the detour and stop on Cones Road outside DoC.
  • Queen Street, Rangiora is to be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday this week for tree maintenance works. On Tuesday the closure will be between Percival Street and Victoria Street, and Wednesday between Percival Street and King Street (including Murray Street). There will be no on street parking within the road closure areas, but pedestrian access will be available on at least one side of the road.
