Opening Hours Over The Easter Break

Don't Be Alarmed....By the Alarm

Civil Defence is conducting a test of its coastal Tsunami warning sirens at 1pm next Tuesday (April 3). Communities living in beach areas will hear the alarms, which are being tested to ensure they are operating correctly. These tests are undertaken periodically to make sure the alarms are ready in case they are needed at any particular time.

Temporary Water Shut Downs For Kaiapoi

Residents in properties on the north and south side of the Williams Street/Smith Street intersection, including some of Smith Street and Princess Place will have their water turned off on Thursday and Friday, as contractors work to install a newly installed section of water main.

Chaotic Cherry Concerns Carefully Considered

Concerns have long been raised by residents about the roots from the cherry trees in Mansfield subdivision interfering with footpaths and lawns. Last night at its March meeting, the Kaiapoi-Tuahiwi Community Board decided the fate of the cherry trees.

Around 50 senior students turned out at an engagement event at the Rangiora High School this afternoon, as Council set up shop in the common space to talk about proposals in the Draft Long Term Plan (LTP).

While it might be proposed for Rangiora’s Coldstream Road, the Multi Use Sports facility that is a key feature of the Draft Long Term Plan will be a leading topic for discussion at Monday’s meeting of the Kaiapoi-Tuahiwi Community Board at the Ruataniwha Kaiapoi Civic Centre.

Chinnerys Road to Close for Ravenswood Development

Major roading and civil works are about to start on Chinnerys Road in Woodend as part of development of Stage 1A of the residential area of Ravenswood, North Canterbury’s largest new commercial and residential  area.
