Council Services on Labour Day

With the long weekend on its way, the Waimakariri District Council is reminding residents that a few services will change on Labour Day.

Council Service Centres will be closed on Labour Day and reopen on Tuesday 26 October.

Rubbish and Recycling Collection

Kerbside rubbish, organics and recycling will be collected as normal on Labour Day.

Southbrook Resource Recovery Park and Oxford Transfer Station

Southbrook Resource Recovery Park is open on Labour Day from 8.30am - 4.30pm.

Oxford Transfer Station is closed as per normal hours.

Aquatic Facilities

On Labour Day, the Aquatic Facilities in Kaiapoi and Rangiora will be open between 10am - 7pm. Normal hours resume on Tuesday 26 October. No programmes run over holiday weekends, however, visitors are strongly encouraged to make a booking to visit the pools to help staff manage demand while maintaining two metre distancing requirements. When you book, you'll be provided with your own area of the pool to enjoy with your bubble.

Waikuku Beach Paddling Pool is open from Saturday 23 October. Remember to bring sunscreen and a hat as the shade sail won't be installed to after Guy Fawkes. There will be a Covid-19 QR code on the gate, and please remember to try and maintain distance between yourself and other family bubbles.

The Oxford Community Aquatic Facility will open in November.
