A section of Adderley Terrace west of Sneyd Street will close permanently, as development of the Silverstream Subdivision progresses, and a new road link between Island Road and Adderley Terrace is built.
Contractors working for the developer will be installing underground services including water, sewer and stormwater, as well as raising the road level. The work will start on Monday 24 August, and detours will be in place via Sneyd Street, Audley Terrace and Island Road.
The new road link includes a realignment of Adderley Terrace, which will improve safety as it will remove the blind corner at the intersection of Sneyd Street.
The work to install underground services and build the new road is expected to continue into mid-2021.
