The finishing touches are being put on the Victoria Park Public Toilets before they open on Saturday following the recent refurbishment.
The building now features classic timber weatherboard cladding and a completely refurbished interior with all new fittings, flooring and lighting. Vibrant nature-themed vinyl adds colour and interest to the walls and ceiling and the installation of skylights introduces plenty of natural light into each cubicle.
The work had been on the cards for some time after an upgrade was identified as a key priority through the Council’s Public Toilet Strategy in 2017.
They will close for short period of time later in the year while exterior landscaping is completed.
Contractors replaced almost every part of the toilet block apart from the roof, and the work was completed on-time and within budget.
