ANZAC Day Parades and Services

ANZAC Day is on Thursday 25 April and commemorates all New Zealanders killed in war, and honours returned servicemen and women. There are ANZAC Day Parades and Citizens Memorial Services being held throughout the Waimakariri District. All are welcome to attend.

Wednesday 24 April 2019 


A service will be held in the Ohoka Hall, 490 Mill Road at 11am.


A service will be held at the Cenotaph at Sefton Domain at 6pm.


A service will be held at the Woodend Community Centre, School Road, at 6pm.

Thursday 25 April 2019


The ANZAC Day parade will assemble at the corner of Sewell Street and Davie Street at 9.45am. The parade will march to Trousselot Park, Charles Street, where a service and dedication will be held at 10am.

The RSA will also be holding a Dawn Service at 6.30am at the war memorial and members of the public are invited to attend this service.


A memorial service will be held in the Oxford Town Hall at 9.30am.


The ANZAC Day Parade will assemble at the RSA Club Rooms, Victoria Street, Rangiora at 11.15am and march up Victoria Street and along High Street to the Cenotaph for the 11.30am service and wreath laying ceremony. The Rangiora RSA and Council will also lay wreaths at the Rangiora High School at 9.30am (assembling at 9.20am).

Cust/West Eyreton

A memorial service will be held at 10am in the Cust Community Centre. The service will be followed by a wreath laying ceremony at the West Eyreton Memorial Hall at 11am.


A memorial service followed by a wreath laying ceremony will be held in the Fernside Memorial Hall at 10am.


A memorial service will be held at the War Memorial and those attending the service should assemble at 1.45pm at the community mailboxes by the urupa (cemetery) for the 2pm service.

Temporary road closures will be in place in Kaiapoi and Rangiora, Cust and West Eyreton to accommodate the RSA parades.

Residents of the District are invited to attend the above commemorative services and wreath laying ceremonies.
