A bout of wet weather in December put paid to plans to seal Ohoka Road West - the arterial road running through west Kaiapoi. The work was rescheduled to the New Year and this time the weather forecast looks to be playing its part.
Ohoka Road West, between the Butchers Road Bridge and Mill Road, will be re-surfaced on Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 January.
The arterial road provides a link through to west Rangiora and diverts a high volume of traffic from the suburban streets of Silverstream.
The road will be re-surfaced with asphalt and work has been planned to maintain two-way traffic.
Like last time, the work is weather depending. Providing the dry weather continues, the work will be carried out over two days. Line marking will be carried out shortly after.
There will be closures of intersecting roads, however these will be brief and opened as soon as the sealing is completed.
