As well as the paddling pool, the domain offers
picnic areas, a skate bowl, playground complete with flying fox and it’s just a
short walk to the beach if you want to brave the ocean.
To offer sun protection shade sails will be
installed over the paddling pool in early November. These are put up a little
later to avoid any damage from strong spring winds or from people letting off
fireworks in the park around Guy Fawkes.
The Waimakariri has second outdoor pool located in
Oxford. This supervised facility opens to the public on Saturday 25 November
and runs for a 15 week season over summer. It will close on 11 March 2018.
