District Council’s Community and Greenspace team were back out at Ohoka Domain at
the popular Farmers Market on Friday morning. It wasn’t to buy veges, flowers
or food. Staff are finding out what the community thinks about the latest
concept plan to develop the Domain.
This is the
latest stage of a comprehensive community engagement process. Residents were
invited to come and view the plan and add their comments or views. Local groups from Ohoka as well as the Ohoka
Domain Committee have been involved in the process, and the latest concept plan
is the result of everyone’s feedback.
Buchanan from the Ohoka Domain Committee says, “Engagement with the Council has
been good. The community have had many
opportunities to see the concept plan and share their views. It’s also been really useful having Council
staff on hand at events like this to answer questions.”

need to be made to the plan. It will be
presented to the Oxford-Ohoka Community Board for support before it goes before
Council for consideration of funding allocation from the 2018-2028 Long Term
