with a bang on Saturday 23 September.
The annual festival has a great line-up of events and activities,
offering something for the whole family to enjoy.
Pop Up cinema is first to kick the event off, showing the movie 'SING' at the Kaiapoi
Borough School Hall at 6pm. For the
peckish, there will refreshments to purchase and pre-movie entertainment starts
wait…there’s more! Party in the Park is on Sunday starting at 11.30am at Trousselot
Park. There are just too many activities
to list but highlights include face painting by Beyond the Faerie Tree,
performances by magician Josh Grimaldi, a photo booth, bouncy castle, entertainment
from local dance groups, and from 1.30pm the amazingly popular Christchurch band
Assembly Required will be live on stage.
activities during the Spring Festival includes a colouring competition designed
by artist Lynda Bell. You can pick up entry forms from Kaiapoi Paper Plus. A Spring Festival floral display centrepiece
using flowers donated by local school students will be put together on Saturday
23 September and there will be some spring treats given out along Williams
Street from Tuesday 26 September. Look
out for Kaiapoi shops and businesses participating in a spring themed window display
You Me We Us Spring Festival is supported by the Kaiapoi-Tuahiwi Community
Board and Waimakariri Aquatic Facilities.
It has fantastic support from a range of local businesses, organisations
and local schools. The event is free although donations will be gratefully
accepted by You Me We Us.
