Pink Elephant Gets New Coat

The pink elephant is starting to look sharp as a group of JC's volunteers braved the chilly morning to apply the first coat of pink paint.

Both paint and memories were flowing as the volunteers recalled the very day the pink elephant was set in place.

One volunteer said “Well this will be good for another 50 years”, referring to the new coat of super gloss pink paint.

The elephant will get a second coat and a new hand painted saddle blanket and facial markings as part of the ongoing restoration of the beloved park favourite.

Painting the elephant was one of the final jobs to see the park renovation complete.
