The Waimakariri District Council is one of the largest employers in the Waimakariri District and has become an employer of choice.
From mid March until early June 2016 the Council will be carrying out essential repairs to the wastewater network in Rangiora, Woodend and Kaiapoi.
Most of the work will be completed using a trenchless method for lining the sewer pipes. This restores the condition to new without the need for excavation meaning less disruption to residents and motorists. Some faults will need to be repaired by excavation, although these are expected to be minimal.
You will be able to use your toilet and washing facilities throughout the works and you should notice no change to your usual wastewater service.
Interflow New Zealand Ltd have been contracted to carry out the work.
Where the public sewer is on private property and access is required to a manhole, owners will be contacted individually to agree to a mutually convenient time for the works to take place.
Due to the mobile nature of the works and the number of different sites in Rangiora, Woodend and Kaiapoi, exact dates for each street cannot be determined. Information notices will be delivered to affected properties a few days prior to the work commencing.
While the likelihood is low, the cleaning work has the potential to affect your toilet with air bubbles being blown from the bowl. To minimise any splashes that may occur, please cover the toilet bowl with an old towel and lower the seat and lid.
The work will not affect any other utility services such as water, gas, electricity or telephone.
All work will be undertaken between 7.30 am and 6 pm Monday to Saturday. The work may be delayed if bad weather is experienced or for unforeseen circumstances.
