The Waimakariri District Council is one of the largest employers in the Waimakariri District and has become an employer of choice.
The concept plan includes upgrades to facilities and equipment.
The plan proposes to build new unisex toilets next to the beach car park, add new seating around the play area to complement the existing picnic tables, mixed native shrubs, a cold outdoor shower at the new toilets and new play equipment including a swing set, slide and a Spacenet on a new site closer to the beach car park. The original basketball half-court will stay in its present location.
It is proposed to plant a mixture of native shrubs around both the new toilet and play area to soften their appearance, and the toilet area will have outdoor lighting at night.

These strategies outline the expected quality and resources available at our reserves and as this one did not meet the standards, a replacement was recommended and this will be carried out this year.
We want to know what you think about the reserve proposal and any feedback you have before the project begins. Tell us what you think by 5pm, Friday 8 March 2019.
