Based on the information collated from the workshops and the survey, an action plan will be developed by the Community Age-friendly Steering Group and Council. The plan will identify priority areas under key themes like those in the Age-friendly symbol. It will also identify key partners across the community, resources needed, indicators to measure change and a time-frame.
The plan will go to Council for consideration in May then to the Office for Seniors. We aim to publish and launch the plan in June.
How will a plan help?
This plan aims to make the District more Age-friendly for everyone, now and in future years. It will provide a framework to help manage long term population changes and challenges, and support the District Development Strategy to 2048.
