We are planning to install a new 150mm sewer main along Murray Street from Scott Street to George Street and continuing along George Street to King Street.
The upgrades are intended to improve wastewater network capacity and support future servicing requirements in the area.
The work will include
- Trenching up to 2.5m deep trench along the road corridor to install the sewer pipe.
- Reconnecting some of the sewer service laterals to the new pipe (this will be only applicable to certain properties, and we will work closely with residents to minimise disruption).
Timing of work
The physical work is programmed to begin approximately mid-August subject to weather conditions, contractor availability and other unforeseen circumstances and is expected to last about six weeks from the commencement of the work.
We will continue to update you on any changes to the programme.
How the work may affect you
We are currently in the early stages of designing the sewer main. More detailed information about potential impacts will be shared closer to construction. At this stage, we anticipate the following:
- Potential restrictions to the on-street parking
- Temporary traffic management that may cause minor delays
- Some driveways may have temporary vehicle access restrictions during work hours. This will only affect certain properties, and we will work closely with residents to minimise disruption.
Traffic impacts
Temporary traffic management will be in place with minor restrictions.
