The work will include

Milling of the existing road resurface and reinstating with asphalt.

Timing of work

The work will start on Tuesday 12 May 2026 and is expected to take up to two nights to complete, weather permitting. Working hours are 7pm to 6am.

How the work may affect you

If you are a resident within the worksite, please make yourself known to the staff onsite and they will ensure access in and out of your property will be maintained, noting minor delays may be expected. The aspects of work that have a high noise component, will be completed during the start of the shift, to minimise noise impacts to residents.

Traffic impacts

Stop/Go will be in place along Percival Street and Victoria Street, from Johns Road to Northbrook Road. Percival Street and Victoria Street will be closed south of George Street.

General impacts

Weather

In the event of bad weather or unforeseen circumstances, the work may be delayed.

Safety

While construction is underway on site, please:

• Identify yourself to the staff on site
• Limit your speed to 30km/hr
• Note that this is an active worksite, containing heavy construction machinery and varying road surface, please ensure you drive according to the conditions.

Road work is a noisy, dirty business — but please bear with us. We will be doing all we can to minimise the impact on your home/business. Your cooperation and patience will help us get the job done as quickly as possible. All work will be carried out between the stated hours and over weekdays only to help minimise the impact on the community.
