As part of the Waimakariri District Council Maintenance Contract, CORDE will be undertaking road repairs – dig outs on West Belt, Rangiora.
The work will include
Road repairs, including excavation, backfilling with aggregate and reinstating the surface with structural asphalt.
Timing of work
The work will start on Tuesday 7 April 2026 and is expected to take 3–4 days, weather permitting. Working hours are Monday to Saturday from 7am to 6pm.
How the work may affect you
If you are a resident within the worksite, please make yourself known to the staff onsite and they will ensure access in and out of your property will be maintained, noting minor delays may be expected.
Traffic impacts
There will be a Southbound closure in place on West Belt between Blackett Street and Oxford Road. A detour will be in place via Blackett Street and Stephens Street, please follow the signage.
General impacts
Kerbside collections
Your kerbside collections will remain unchanged. Please ensure your bag or bins are in their usual spot on collection day.
Weather
In the event of bad weather or for unforeseen circumstances, the work may be delayed. If there are significant delays outside of the original dates communicated, this will be communicated via an additional letter drop.
Safety
While construction is underway on site, please:
- Identify yourself to the staff on site
- Note that this is an active worksite, containing heavy construction machinery and carrying road surface, please ensure you drive according to the conditions.

Road work is a noisy, dirty business — but please bear with us. We will be doing all we can to minimise the impact on your home/business. Your cooperation and patience will help us get the job done as quickly as possible. All work will be carried out between the stated hours.
