As part of the Waimakariri District Council Maintenance Contract, CORDE will be undertaking road repairs — dig outs on Ashley Street, Rangiora starting on Monday 13 April 2026. The work is expected to take 10 days, weather permitting.
The work will include
- Road repairs, including open excavation and backfilling.
- Asphalt surface reinstatement of the damaged road areas of Ashley Street between Prince Street and Rickton Place.
Timing of work
Working hours are Monday to Saturday from 7am to 4pm. Minimal noise is to be expected from 6am while traffic management is being set up.
How the work may affect you
If you are a resident within the worksite, please make yourself known to the staff onsite and they will ensure access in and out of your property will be maintained, noting minor delays may be expected.
Traffic impacts
Temporary traffic lights will be used along Ashley Street in stages. At times there will be no access to Ashley Street from Duke Street, Wales Street and Kingsbury Avenue. This is to reduce the number of traffic lights and improve the flow of traffic along Ashley Street. When Kingsbury Avenue is closed to Eastbound traffic, a detour will be in place via Good Street to Blackett Street.
General impacts
Kerbside collections
Your kerbside collections will remain unchanged. Please ensure your bag or bins are in their usual spot on collection day.
Weather
In the event of bad weather or for unforeseen circumstances, the work may be delayed. If there are significant delays outside of the original dates communicated, this will be communicated via an additional letter drop.
Safety
While construction is underway on site, please:
- Identify yourself to the staff on site
- Limit your speed to 30km/hr
- Note that this is an active worksite, containing heavy construction machinery and carrying road surface, please ensure you drive according to the conditions.
