Road Closure for Upcoming Resealing Work - Boundary Road

Resealing work is scheduled to take place on Boundary Road, between Oxford Road and Swannanoa Road from Monday 30 March to Tuesday 21 March.

This work forms part of the annual resealing program for the Waimakariri District Council.

Road resealing serves two key purposes. It waterproofs the pavement to protect the underlying structure and restores surface texture to improve skid resistance  and safety for road users.

For the safety of road users and our contractors, the work will be completed under a full road closure. Resident access will be maintained, however minor delays may be expected.

The work will include
  • Preparing the road for reasealing.
  • Resealing the road with chip seal.  In the event of had weather, this will be rescheduled to the next available day.
  • Following resurfacing, a sweeper truck will be on-site to remove loose sealing chip, and road markings will be reinstated where needed.
Hours of work

The work will be carried out  between 6am and 6pm.

How the work may affect you

There may be occasional construction-related noise and vibration. The contractor will take all reasonable measures to keep these disruptions to a minimum.

Traffic impacts

There will be a road closure operating and traffic management staff will be on site.

Detour routes will be in place via Swannanoa Road, Two Chain Road, Tram Road, Chapmans Boundary Road, Garterys Road, and Oxford Road. Please follow all signage and take extra care when travelling in the area.

Emergency access and property access will be maintained where possible. Please note that there could be delays while the work is underway.

On-street parking will be unavailable within the construction area. Please do not park within the no-parking coned-off area. Vehicles remaining within the construction work area may be towed to another road nearby if parked within the no-parking area.
