Kerb and Channel Renewal – Leech Place Rangiora

In November 2025 we issued an information notice to inform residents of the upcoming kerb and channel renewal on the northern side of Leech Place.

Since then we have completed the design and extended the scope to include the footpath renewal on the southern side of Leech Place, and awarded the Contract to Pidgeon Construction Ltd.

This work is part of the Waimakariri District Council’s annual renewal programme where aging and deteriorating kerb and channel and footpath is replaced.

The work will include
  • Replacing existing kerb and channel on the northern side of Leech Place (Bush Street to No. 4 Leech Place).
  • Replacing the footpath on the southern side of Leech Place (No. 3 Leech Place to Bush Street).
Timing of work

The work is due to commence the week of 3 August 2026 and is expected to take six weeks to complete.
