Your Council Representatives

The Waimakariri District Council is made up of a Mayor and ten Councillors who represent the four wards in our District – three Councillors each for the Kaiapoi and Rangiora wards, and two Councillors each for the Oxford-Eyre and Woodend-Ashley wards.

The Mayor and Councillors are voted in by ratepayers and residents of the District every three years. The last election was held in October 2010.

The Mayor and Councillors can be contacted any time to discuss issues or concerns about our District.

Community and Ward Advisory Boards

There are also community boards in the Kaiapoi, Rangiora and Woodend-Ashley wards. Each board has six elected members voted in every three years, together with the Councillors appointed from each of the appropriate wards. the Oxford-Eyre ward has a ward advisory board which is appointed by the Council, following a public nomination process.
