Housing Needs Survey
The Housing Needs Survey is a joint initiative by the Mayors of Waimakariri and Hurunui to recognise the difficulties that people may have trying to find accommodation in the districts, particularly those wanting to rent or buy reasonably priced / affordable accommodation.
People wanting to rent accommodation or buy a home in North Canterbury are invited to fill in the survey and enter details about their accommodation needs on the survey form provided.
The form is designed to enable social service/support organisations and agencies to collect information concerning the circumstances faced by people who approach them for help to find somewhere to live in the Waimakariri District. We are collecting this information to try to assess the extent of the problem and this information will help those seeking to develop innovative housing solutions.
Please fill in the Housing Needs Survey if you wish to participate.
Results from 2011 Community Survey
The 2011 Community Survey reports on current community attitudes and priorities of Waimakariri District residents.
The survey is designed to assist and assess progress
toward achieving the community outcomes currently included in the
Council's Ten Year Plan 2009-2019.
The survey also helps Council
to meet its obligation under the Resource Management Act 1991 to
undertake state of the environment reporting.
It will also
assist Councillors and other decision-makers within the District to be
aware of community priorities and to learn the views of residents about
topical issues.
