Draft Ten Year Plan 2012-2022
Every three years the
Waimakariri District Council prepares a new Ten Year Plan. This Plan is a
comprehensive statement of the Council's intentions for the services it
proposes to deliver to the Waimakariri community over the coming
decade.
Public submissions on the Draft Ten Year Plan were open from 3 March 2012 to 3 April 2012.
Draft Water Supply Bylaw 2012
The Council intends to make a Water Supply Bylaw
to protect public health and safety and avoid public nuisance through
its provision of potable water supplies to Waimakariri District
communities.
Public submissions on the proposed bylaw were open from Saturday 21 January 2012 to Friday 24 February 2012.
Draft Waimakariri District Council Signage Bylaw 2011
The Council proposed to make a Signage Bylaw to control how signage is placed on the Council road reserve and to prevent signage being placed on Council property.
Public submissions on the proposed bylaw were open from 2 December 2011 to 21 February 2012.
Waimakariri Local Economic Development Strategy 2012
We
wanted to know your thoughts on the directions identified by the draft
Waimakariri Local Economic Development Strategy 2012. Submissions on the
draft Strategy were open from 22 November 2011 to 21 January 2012.
Waimakariri Community Outcomes Survey
As
part of the Ten Year Plan (2012-2022) we wanted to make sure the 2005
Community Outcomes were still relevant to you. Submissions were open from September to November 2011.
Review of Rating, Revenue and Financing Policies
At its meeting on 4 October 2011 the Council decided to review the draft Rating, Revenue and Financing Policies
and to consult the community.
These policies form the basis of preparing the Draft Ten Year Plan
(LTP) 2012-2022. Submissions were open from 12 October until 12 November 2011.
Tuahiwi Water Supply
The Council looked into options for providing Tuahiwi with a community
water supply. The submission period closed Friday 28 October 2011.
Draft Waimakariri Disability Strategy
The Waimakariri Disability Strategy was developed in conjunction with
a Disabilty Reference Group made up of key disability service
providers, disability groups, Council staff and elected members. The
submission period closed Monday 29 August 2011.
Proposed Closure of Stockwater Race through North Canterbury
The
Council proposed to close a section of stockwater race through north
Rangiora from Lehman's Road east to Marchmont Road and the Ashley /
Rakahuri River. The submission period closed Friday 26 August 2011. At a
meeting on 1 November 2011 the Council resolved to close this section
of stockwater race from 1 December 2011.
Earthquake Prone Buildings Policy
The Waimakariri District Council’s current Earthquake Prone Buildings
Policy review is aimed at reducing the time frame for strengthening
earthquake prone buildings in the District. The
submission period closed Friday 12 August 2011.
Rangiora Airfield Designation
To ensure the protection of facilities and land for current and
future use of the Rangiora Airfield, the Waimakariri District Council
re-notified the designation of the airfield. The submission period
closed Monday 1 August 2011.
Draft Waimakariri District Road Safety Strategy
The
Draft Road Safety Strategy for the Waimakariri District was designed to
reduce fatalities and serious injury crashes on the District’s roads.
It describes the key road safety issues that will provide the focus for
various initiatives and actions that seek to reduce road crashes in the
District in the next five years. The submission period closed Friday 29
July 2011.
Rangiora Town Centre 2020 - Issues and Concepts Submissions
Between
the end of May and end of June 2010 the Council sought feedback on the
RTC2020 Issues and Concepts Paper. We received a total of 76
submissions, most of which showed great support and enthusiasm for
directions signalled, which are now reflected in the Strategy. The
Council adopted the Rangiora Town Centre Strategy on 21 September 2010.
Kaiapoi Town Centre Plan - Draft for Consultation 2011
Submissions
on the draft Kaiapoi Town Centre Plan closed on 29 April 2011, with 147
submissions being received. Fourteen of those submissions were heard at
a hearing on 9 May 2011. Following this, the hearing panel considered
all submissions and, after some amendments to the document, recommended
the Council adopt the Kaiapoi Town Centre Plan at its meeting on 7 June
2011. All consultation documents and decisions on submissions can be
found on the New Foundations website.
Kaiapoi River North Side Additional Land Remediation Works
EQC
applied for a land use consent for the perimeter works on the north
side of the Kaiapoi River. Comments on the application were invited and
closed on 29 April 2011.
