Green Space Community Engagement Officer

The Waimakariri District Council is seeking to recruit for the position of Green Space Community Engagement Officer. The position will be based at Rangiora, North Canterbury. The Waimakariri District offers a wide range of recreational and lifestyle opportunities and is a very desirable location, being less than 30 minutes drive from Christchurch.
The prime purpose of this position is to develop and maintain relationships with the community to ensure that what the Council has interpreted and understood reflects the community views on the development and management of green space.
We are looking for a community focussed person who has the personal skills to relate to and work effectively with a diverse range of people and who has the ability to work with the community on planning or recreation development issues. A formal qualification in a parks and recreation or related area is essential. This role would be suitable for someone with experience in the parks and recreation industry. A competitive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
