Water Shut Down Tomorrow

Published: 08-Nov-2017

An upgrade to the supply system in eastern Kaiapoi is going to lead to a water shutdown in the area tomorrow between 11am and 5pm.In order to allow the work to be carried out, the water main will be turned off in the road through parts  of Williams Street, Cass Street and Sewell Street.

Our team will be doing their best to minimise the inconvenience and get the water flowing again as soon as possible.  Once the water is turned back on and connected to the new water main, it is advisable to flush out your cold water system as some air will be in the pipe feeding your property.   Just run the cold tap in your kitchen for approximately a minute until it runs clear as normal. 20171108_WaterShutdown

The work will necessitate some disruption for traffic in the area while it is completed.  If you are planning to travel down Cass Street, allow yourself an extra minute or two, as a section of the road is going to be closed on the east side of Williams Street between it and Meadow Street, from 7am to 6pm.

Detour signs will be in place, directing westbound traffic to Williams Street via Meadow Street and Beach Road.  Eastbound commuters will be able to access the west side of Cass Street via Sewell and Jones Streets.

The water shutdown will affect properties on Williams Street between Smith Street and Davie Street, on Cass Street between Davie Street and Meadow Street and on Sewell Street between Williams Street and Davie Street.

We apologise for any inconvenience the road closure may cause.
