Published: 09-Nov-2017

The sewer upgrade on Railway Road, Rangiora continues gathering pace and the contractors have already made significant progress over the past few months. The works are the first stage of the multi-year Central Rangiora Sewer Upgrade that was approved by Council in 2015.

This project will improve the level of service in the existing wastewater reticulation system and provide for future growth in Rangiora.20171109_RailwayRoad

At a recent Council meeting, approval was given for a variation to this contract named Central Rangiora Sewer Stage 2A.  This next stage includes the installation of an additional 350 metres of concrete gravity sewer main and six new manholes.

The scope this work will extend from the intersection of Railway Road and Gefkins Road to the intersection of Southbrook Road and Pearson Lane.  It was agreed that this length of sewer be constructed during the December-January holiday period to minimise effects on surrounding schools and day care centres.
