Under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 all applications for a special licence must be made at least 20 working days before the event is held (the only exceptions are for unforeseeable events such as funerals).
Council, Police and Community and Public Health must all prepare reports in relation to the special licence application. That is why 20 working days are required.
Under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act, a ‘working day’ does not include weekends, statutory holidays or any day between 20 December 2017 and 15 January 2018 inclusive. Please send us your application immediately.
