Pegasus Dog Park Nearly Complete

Published: 20-Oct-2017

Pegasus will soon be home to a dedicated dog park, with the development of Gladstone Dog Park expected to be complete in the next couple of weeks.

Gladstone Dog Park

Located in Gladstone Park off Hakatere Road, Pegasus - the project has been keenly watched by nearby residents, with locals already keen to start using the area.

Green Space Community Engagement Officer Grant Stephens noted that it was an exciting time for the district’s dog owners, but urged the public to be patient while the final work was completed.

“It’s still an active construction site, with a range of potential hazards, especially while the contractors are still on site, we ask for your patience while we finish up and ensure it is a safe and welcoming place for people and their pets.”

The development of Gladstone Park follows the successful launch and ongoing popularity of the Milton Memorial Reserve Dog Park in Rangiora.

Gladstone Dog ParkCommunity group, Friends of the Rangiora Dog Park, have been heavily involved with enhancing that dog park and are currently fundraising for shelters to be installed. They have a quiz night planned for 13th November in partnership with Rangiora Lions Club.  Event and ticketing information can be found on their Facebook page.

Gladstone Dog Park will be the third dog park established for the Waimakariri District, with another planned for the Regeneration area in Kaiapoi. It is expected to open in mid-November.
